Flea bites are not only an irritation resulting in a small itchy patch around a red head they can also be quite dangerous as many people are allergic to the the chemical injected into the wound my the flea, this reaction can cause a number of symptoms, including developing a fever.
Sand fleas are small but sand flea bites on humans can be very dangerous as they carry disease and the sand fleas sometimes burrow beneath the skin, here they remain feeding and growing, the small 1milimiter sand fleas can grow up to ten times their original size beneath your skin and although you would probably not have noticed the original sand flea bites you will notice the large lump of the sand flea beneath the skin. These need to be removed by a doctor.
The best way to kill fleas is dependent on how you feel about using chemicals in your home, the chemicals used in flea foggers and flea bombs are toxic and flammable. If you do not want to use chemicals in your home then you can use natural remedies such as flea traps and herbs these ways may be slower than the chemical approach but will not put chemicals into your home environment.
If you do not want to use harsh toxic and flammable chemicals in your home you can use natural flea control measures such as Ceder wood chips outside at possible flea entry points to your home, you can also use the non chemical flea traps that attract fleas and trap them on sticky pads, a little like fly paper.
Your attitude to your home and environment will influence how you deal with any flea infestation you have, if you are in need to rid your home quickly of an infestation then flea foggers may be right for you, if you are happy to take things a little slower then more natural remedies and flea traps could be the way to go.
